Description

An bradoon bit is used in combination with a dressage bar, so there are two different bits in the horse's mouth at the same time. The rings of a braddon bit are smaller so that there is enough space for the action of the dressage bar. The bar and snaffle combination is mainly used in higher dressage and is not suitable for an inexperienced rider.

The single-jointed bit has one pivot point which puts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-broken mouthpiece acts mainly on the layers, the side of the tongue and can also act in the palate. A single-broken mouthpiece is considered a standard mouthpiece.

Sweet Iron bits are made of steel and have a recognisable blue colour. Sweet Iron develops surface rust through contact with (air) humidity, which tastes sweet and naturally stimulates the horse's salivation. This will cause the horse to foam more, which improves acceptance of the bit. This rusting process (oxidation) changes the blue colour of TRUST bits to brownish-grey.
