About Pavo SOS Kit
This survival package is easy to prepare and vital for motherless foals and foals whose mare gives no or insufficient colostrum milk.
Important properties
Contains
Colostrum - colostrum (2 sachets of 150 gr)
supplies the newborn foal with antibodies
essential for resistance in the first 48 hours
Foal milk (1 sachet à 1500 gr)
tailored to the specific composition of mare milk
bottle with associated teat (1x)
Application
Use Pavo S.O.S.-kit shortly after the birth of the foal, if there are problems with the milk yield of the mare (preferably within 3 hours, no later than 12 hours after birth)
To be on the safe side, have the vet perform an overall check on your foal within 24 hours.
It is best to heat or keep the milk ‘ au bain-marie ’ warm.
Au bain-marie is heating in or above a hot water bath. Take a pan or bowl with a minimum capacity of 1 liter and place it in or above a larger pan with hot water. Heating Au bain-marie prevents sifting and burning.
Never heat the colostrum milk in the microwave.
The antibodies in the colostrum milk can lose the protective effect due to the high temperature. The foal milk may be heated using a microwave.
